Guest Poet/Writer, John Harrison

John has been the guest poet before (September 2022) and we loved him! We always look forward to his monthly contributions also.

So settle down for a fun-filled evening with serious overtones, or undertones? Football references, and possibly biscuits. Various complicated poetic forms, and who knows what we will get - but it is guaranteed to be entertaining!

Guest Musician, Mike Makin

Quickly approaching his 40s in the late nineties, Mike decided he would finally try to play that guitar he'd bought when he was 18.

After night classes in Morpeth, given by the legendary Micky Ball, it was just a short 10 years to his first public performance at the Tanners Arms open mic in 2006...

Nearly 20 years on and with a healthy repertoire of British and American rock and pop classics, Mike regularly plays and sings with Felton based trio The Poo Bag Fairies and the village ensemble the Clap-tones.

Mike's managed to generate a handful of self-penned songs along the way and he'll be playing a small selection of these for the June, Rothbury Poetry, Writing, and Music Event.
